Victory for MSU!

This past weekend was pretty fantastic. Not only did my work obligations go very well, but I had an awesome time Saturday at the MSU Homecoming game against Indiana. Even though it was a night game, and a rather cold day, and I got home fairly late, it was still awesome. That’s because night games have one advantage: extra time to tailgate. Plus you can sleep in a bit in the morning.

I lazed about Saturday morning playing Rune Factory and Halo 3. Around 11:00 I dressed in about a hundred layers, threw some beer and myself in the car and headed to Matt’s place. Once we got them in the Swede Mobile it was off to East Lansing for some drink some covert beers in the usual Tailgating area of Munn Field.

The game itself was pretty fantastic. Lots of points, a big win (a must-win actually) helped make the trip worthwhile. After our throats were hoarse from shouting it was back to the camp for a snack and the drive home.

Originally this post was going to be a bit more involved, but it’s been sitting in my drafts for 3 days now and I’m too busy to put much thought into it, so I’m pushing it out the door. Like a good software engineer I may patch it later.

  1. Word to the wise on rune factory: Summer brings occasional cyclones that wreak havoc on your field, basically reseting it to what it was like day 1. The first time I thought it was just a rare storm. After it happened again the very next day I resolved to try to dodge them by saving before sleeping. The third one I dodged by doing that and then reseting on waking. Luckily I wasn’t growing many crops, but still, it’s crazy destructive for how often it can occur. Luckily it’s an unscripted event. Save before sleeping!

  2. Three cyclones in a week!? How can I possibly grow anything? Seems a bit excessive and unrealistic. :|

  3. If you keep trying to dodge them I think it reschedules the event. I only had one in Spring, I let it happen, and I haven’t had another since.

  4. Well, I let another one roll over my field towards the end of Summer; then another the next day. But it’s all good. I just grow stuff in caves now. :P

  5. Here is some praise for Rune Factory; I’ve been choosing to play it over both Sonic Rush Adventure AND Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Thanks for introducing me to it!
